Double click on the My Requests folder. If "Synapse" initially shows in the worklist, left double click on it to display the "My Request" folder.

Double click on the Patient’s exam you wish to view. Look in image count column to assure images are in folder. There will be some examinations that have images combined in one folder. If a patient exam has more than one folder, choose the folder that contains images. It may take a while for images to populate on slower networks.

To view Reports, Notes, Study information click on icon located on Synapse toolbar (located top left of screen)

 

A. Power Jacket (combination tool – combines tools b,c,d & e)
   
B. Study info (patient & ordering information)
   
C. Reports (a report will be available if it has been finalized)
   
D. Notes (typically technologist notes)
   
E. Series display (shows the series that were obtained for the particular exam)
   
F. Page layout (allows you to choose how many series to display per page)
   
G. Prev/Next Series (within a particular exam)

Scrolling through images: Left click on series. This will activate window - a white dotted line will appear around image. Use on keyboard, or page up and page down key to scroll through images within the series. If you use a mouse with a middle mouse ball you can roll the ball to view images.

Selecting other series: If another series is displayed on your desktop (because you confirgured the page layout to show more than one series per page) simply left click on another series and scroll through the images, or

Use the and arrows in the Synapse tool bar to move to other series, or

Pick the series chooser in the Synapse tool bar
to selectively choose a series to view, left click and drag a series to your monitor – release the mouse.

Changing Page Layout: Go to Page Layout on the toolbar. Left click on desired layout. This determines how many series to display per page. One, two or four is suggested depending on the size of your viewing monitor.

Window/Level/Zoom: Right click over image and choose desired tool with a left click. Hold left mouse button down, move mouse up/down/left right to change W/L, zoom and pan.

Window and level can be brought back to the original default by pressing "9" on the keyboard number pad or right clicking on image, selecting "Image Presets" and then selecting "Revert".

Right click on image to display additional functions available:

Ruler - hold down letter "R" and then left click mouse at start point of measurement, drag mouse to end of measurement, release mouse (right click allows the option to delete measurement)

Image presets – allows you to choose preset windows for viewing of bone vs. soft tissue, etc.

Tools – additional tools available

Reference Lines – choose single

Tile Formats – when working within a series, allows you to choose how many images will be displayed per page

Left click and highlight tool desired.

When image review is complete for a particular exam, go back to worklist by clicking on up arrow on toolbar. This is preferable to using the "back" arrow.

Click on next patients exam to view, or close window by a left click on the "X" in the upper right hand corner.

If you are ready to log out. Right click on the Synapse icon, and log out.
